Varsity Boy's Basketball Coach

Manistee Catholic is looking for a Varsity boys basketball coach who is responsible for the coordination and communication in all capacities, practices, games, travel and events.  It is the head coaches responsibility to keep the athlete along with the parent(s) informed of practice, game, and travel times and of any changes that may develop.
The ideal coach would emphasize the importance of athletics, academics, and good sportsmanship in a faith-based environment.
 
Previous high school basketball coaching experienced preferred.  CPR, First Aid, AED certification, and successful completion of background check is required.
MHSAA Rules Meeting and Health and Safety for basketball is required, which can be found on the MHSAA website.

Director of Food Service

The Director of Food Services employs exemplary leadership and communication skills in order to maintain healthy morale, resolution of operational issues and strong working relationships with FSD, staff, students, purveyors, farmers and teachers, as well as all of the stakeholders.
 
The director oversees the implementation of the Farm-to-Cafeteria model by finding innovative ways to keep the school meal programs supplied with fresh, seasonal, organic and/or sustainably grown produce and products, by building partnerships between the school district and regional agriculture.

Athletic Director  - part t

A dedicated Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of athletic activities while being a role model of professionalism in a Catholic environment. These responsibilities include developing and managing the department’s budget, hiring coaches, managing to schedule and promote athletic activities and events, and tracking team progress. A successful Athletic Director will also liaise with sports conference on school’s behalf.

To be a successful part-time Athletic Director, you should be dedicated, detail-oriented, and meticulous in your work. You should be passionate about the athletics department and helping school athletes and coaches reach their fullest potential. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the athletics department and programs.

  • Developing and working within the school sports department budget.

  • Coordinating with coaches on games, practices, and event schedules.

  • Coordinating and promoting athletic events, such as games and fundraisers.

  • Responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all students in athletic programs.

  • Ensure all coaching staff have required and current CPR, first aid, concussion protocol training and certifications.

  • Hiring and firing coaches and assessing and monitoring current and prospective coaches.

  • Tracking and reporting on team progress through analyzing past performances, recent successes, and areas for improvement.

  • Attend faculty and administrative meetings as needed.

  • Secure game officials as required.

  • Maintain student health records in the Athletic office, ensuring that required information is disseminated to all coaching staff as required.

  • Maintain and revise the coaches manual each year and set up appropriate meetings with coaches to review the information and standards in detail.

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook and Employee Handbook.

  • Purchase and maintain inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms.

  • Oversee the distribution, collection, cleaning, repair, and storage of all athletic uniforms and equipment.

  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, physical education, or related field.

  • Experience in coaching, teaching, or administration.

  • Experience coaching elementary, middle school, and high school aged children.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Understanding of fundraising and promotional events.

  • Experience with developing and managing a budget.

  • Ability to handle scrutiny from parents and the public.


Physical Demands:

  • Work is preformed primarily in a standard office and/or gymnasium setting.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, life, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, see, hear, and use their hands for fine and gross motor functions.

Religion Teacher

Manistee Catholic Central School is accepting applications to fill a part-time teaching position in Religion.  At Manistee Catholic Central we strive to build partnerships with families who value a strong Catholic education, academic excellence and the close personal relationships fostered in our family environment.  We nurture the whole child: spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.   The Classroom Teacher position fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school philosophy, organization, and curriculum.  The ideal candidate will be highly dedicated, willing to collaborate with colleagues, and able to inspire and challenge students. 

Duties and requirements:

  • Provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth toward a successful future.

  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.

  • Models the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religion, or a related field

  • Must have State of Michigan Education Certificate or actively enrolled in certificate program.

  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement instruction.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Ability to connect with students and engage them in learning. 

  • Must be able to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger.

  • Ability to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement weather.

  • Must abide by the teachings and doctrinal practices of the Catholic Church and support the mission of the sponsoring parish. 

This position may require:

  • Periods of Standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive hand movements on a daily basis.

Preschool Director

Manistee Catholic Central, Manistee, MI ~ a leader in Catholic education ~ is seeking a highly qualified early childhood educator to work within their daycare as the Daycare Director.

 

Qualified candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or childhood development or in the process of pursuing.

  • Early Childhood (ZA) Endorsement or General and Special Education (ZS) Endorsement.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Pass the MTTC

  • Have a passion for and understanding of early childhood development as well as developmentally appropriate practices. Support children in their social/emotional, physical, cognitive and creative growth.

  • Assist children as they discover literacy and math skills and encourage learning to help them feel successful in their school experience.
