Robotics Summer Camp 2019

Twenty MCC students in grades 3 through 6 attended a VEX IQ robotics camp sponsored by the MCC Robotics Club at the parish center. The two day event was led by Philllip Leete of Quarkmine in Traverse City. Students worked with their computers to program the robots to accomplish a task through autonomous driving, they built their robots to do specific tasks and then tested them and made adjustments to solve problems that occurred. Third grade teacher and club sponsor said the program “…really generates some deeper level thinking on the children’s part. You can really see the wheels turning…” as they try to solve a problem. This is the start of our Club’s second year as students look forward to building, programming, driving, and competing in this season with other schools in Michigan.
