Religion Curriculum
Through the study of the Catholic faith and the Gospel message, MCCS students celebrate God's love, develop a personal relationship with the Lord, and become active members of the Catholic community. Our students learn Catholic doctrine, prayer and traditions, through liturgy, Scripture study, retreats, and community service.

Mass, Prayer, Retreats

Elementary school students pray in the classroom daily and attend Mass weekly. Special events include May Crowning, penance services,  Advent and Lenten Services. Middle school and high school students begin the day in our school chapel with a prayer service and scripture readings, attend weekly Mass. Religion classes pray the Rosary together and organize weekly Stations of the Cross during Lent. Students in grades 6-12 make yearly retreats with their classmates.

Faith Formation
MCC offers Jr. and Sr. High School students the opportunity to meet outside of school in the girls’ and boys’ Faith-Sharing groups.

Service
Learning to serve God through serving others is an important part of life in Manistee Catholic Central School. Elementary school students begin with the "Learning to Give" project and with classroom and school service projects in support of local and global social justice issues such as St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Salvation Army, Love INC, Kasisi Children's Orphanage in Zambia, Africa. and the Rainforest Action Network. High school students serve their school, parishes, and community agencies through their religion classes. In addition, sophomores complete 40 hours of service as part of their graduation requirements.
